Greer - I have already started a pile for the CCA yardsale. Haven't made as much progress as I would like (new baby & being out of town part of last week cut into my time), but I have been cleaning out. Thanks for keeping me accountable!

I have a great idea!

I think that part about your accountability friends responsibility should include a day or weekend to help you in your endeavor. They could all come at once or on separate weekends. I think at least one person could help you go through things, one could help w/ a yard sale and be responsible to haul the rest to a thrift store (maybe one that will pay for stuff), and another friend can help you paint,..etc

Its an all-about-kate day/weekend,...you are always helping others,..now it is time for others to help you (and if i may be so bold,.. for you to let them). You are limited to baking 1 thing (if you want)(don't you love how i am making all the rules for your weekend?).

And if the friend is from far away, don't count them out of the plan,...they might not mind driving or flying to help their red headed friend in need.

What do you think???

ps In the spirit of generosity, I will let you name the day/weekend.

"redhead kate"! It was so good to finally meet you. When I was a kid, my dad made me eat yams, so I hated sweet potatoes for the longest time. Then, as the Lord would have it, I’m on a mission trip in Papua New Guinea. There I’m working with a national in an effort to build a clinic for the school there and for the people in the area. As we break for lunch, what does this guy pull out of his pocket to eat? Yup. A sweet potato. I laughed, thinking “This guy is happy to eat the very thing I have despised for so long.

Since then I’ve given them a second chance. So, it was no small thing to first see Matt open the dishwasher and show me the now clean sweet potatoes and then to enjoy them over dinner. I love, love, love what you, Evie and the rest of the folks did for us. The meals were truly one of the best parts of Hutchmoot.

Isn’t Matt Conner just the coolest dude ever? Cherie and I invited him to ride with us over to the show. He is such a dear man and we loved hearing about how he is shepherding Mercy House up in Anderson, IN. God is good all the time!

Amy - thanks, I get butterfiles thinking about it. It was a little scary to hit the publish button! That isn't what I sat down to write last night, but the longer I thought about it, the more I realized that is what I needed to do.

Greer - given everything else I have done this year (LA trip, mission trip, Nashville trip), I don't think I can go to the conference unless I win. There are around 400 entries, so my chances are slim. But as I said I'm moving forward whether I win or not. I would love for you to be one of my accountability people. Thanks! And yes, I'll get the book to you.
